Why did i choose my major?

 Since 2020 i study in the visual arts programme of Universidad de Chile, but years ago i was already interested in art, especially in the body art and everything it means. Since i was a little girl i looked at people with tattoos, piercings and things like these and i loved the way that they looked and they showed presence. Then, when i was like 10 years i did my first piercing on myself and since that moment i started to practice in other people and become interested about tattoo world too. In 2016 when i was in the secundary school, i bought my first tattoo machine but also discovered other forms of art and i started to learn about the chilean art schools, and i decided that the programme of this university was the best complement to all the ideas that come to me since that period. Nowadays, i'm in 3rd years and i have been able to mix the academic world with the tattoos and body art and it makes me so happy.

Who I Am?

Hi, my name is Loretto Vargas, i'm 21 right now and i'm from Santiago de Chile. I was born in a town on the outskirts of Santiago called Talagante and i lived in a smaller town next to it called Isla de Maipo until 2022, there i lived with my mom, dad and my older brother. I studied there until i finished the high school and then i got into Universidad de Chile to the visual arts programme. I moved to Santiago Centro in 2022 to be closer to the university campus. Here i have learnt so many new things about the art and about me and i started the creation of an artistic project dedicated to the party clothes and accesories confection that mix the techniques and disciplines that i studied the past years, this are the paint, print and goldsmith. Also, i’m a tattoo artist practicioner since a few years ago, i do blackwork and puntillism.
